Jan Petr Molitor (1702–1756) 

• Was a German painter.
• Born in Schadeck near Koblenz.
• In German Peter Johann Molitor, originally Peter Miller.
• Born Peter Miller, he studied painting in Bonn, Berlin and Dresden.
• He left for Prague in 1730.
• Here he studied with Václav Vavřinec Reiner and converted to the Catholic faith. 
• He began to write himself with the Latin version of his name Molitor (miller in Czech).
• In 1734 he was admitted to the Old Town Painters' Guild as a master. 
• He married and had six sons and a daughter.
• In 1756 he went to Krakow, where he died suddenly.
• He painted a large number of paintings, especially for churches, but also portraits, allegories, landscapes, etc.
• He was also a painter of frescoes and decorated, for example, the church in Uhříněves.
