Gerolamo Pesci (1679–1759)

• Was an Italian Baroque painter.
• He was born in Rome.
• Girolamo Pesci was a pupil of Carlo Maratta and later of Francesco Trevisani.
• Pesci is known primarily for his large-scale religious work including commissions for the altarpiece in Spirito Santo de Carignano in 1713, the vaulted frescoes in the sacristy of San Onofrio, Rome, and the huge ceiling fresco in Santa Maria Maddalena, Rome.
• He painted a San Carlo and other Saints for the church of San Filippo in San Severino Marche.
• He also painted in 1721 a portrait of James Francis Edward Stuart, now at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire.
