Maximiliaen Pauwels (1615 - 1661)

• Was a Flemish baroque painter.
• Maximiliaen Pauwels was like painter working in Antwerp.
• He mainly painted history scenes.
• He married Annemarie le Rousseau, with whom he had six children.
• After the death of his first wife in 1654, he married Elisabeth van Loon on October 20, 1661.
• With her he had a son Martin who was born fourteen days after their marriage.
• Pauwels painted a realistic portrait of the Grote Markt in Antwerp in 1649 and the proclamation of the Peace of Münster.

• It is so accurate that people still go back to this work before restoring the guild houses.
