Peter Wtewael (1596 – 1660) 

• Was a Dutch Golden Age painter. 
• Wtewael was born in Utrecht.
• He was Son of the Dutch painter and engraver Joachim Wtewael and brother to the painter Johan Wtewael.
• He specialized in painting kitchen scenes and mythological figures.
• Peter worked only briefly as an artist, between 1624 and 1630.
• Wtewael died in 1660.
• Peter's small known œuvre consists of five signed paintings and around twenty attributed works.
• One of his works is displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
• The displayed painting is a crop from: Kitchen Scene, 1620s.
