The monastery and church of St. Thomas in the Lesser Town

Near the Lesser Town Square, the Church of St. Thomas has been standing in Josefská Street for almost 800 years. The church was founded in 1285 by the Czech king Wenceslas himself II. This unique architectural ensemble combines three architectural epochs – Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Václav Hájek of Libočany, a famous chronicler, is buried in the crypt of the church.
