Jean Adam Mathieu (1698 – 1753)

• Was a French painter and master enameller to the king.
• He joined the Manufacture de Vincennes in the first years of its creation.

• From 1745 to 1746 he participated in research on forms and manufacturing tests, under the direction of Jean Hellot, in the company of Robert Dubois and his brother Gilles Dubois (ceramist), with Jean-Claude Duplessis which draws the shapes of certain vases, as well as the shapes of gilded bronze mounts.

• He was master enameller to the king.

• He was housed in the Galeries du Louvre.

• He signs his works Mathieu. 

• Jean Adam Mathieu died in Paris.
