Giovanni Antonio Lelli (1591 – 1640)

• Was an Italian painter of the Baroque period.
• Lelli's date and place of birth are unknown. 
• He was a pupil of the painter Cigoli.
• A member of the Accademia di S. Luca where he held different offices.
• By 1631 he was living in the via Margutta with his wife and children.
• He painted a Visitation for the Convent della Minerva.
• Lelli had much work designing frontispieces and illustrations for thesis prints.
• His designs were etched by Camillo Cungi, Federico Greuter, M. Natalis and V. Regnard.
• He is buried in Santa Maria del Popolo.
