• Was born in Obořiště in Příbram.
• Son of a painter Jan Jakub Hartmann.
• His brother Václav Jan Hartman was also a painter.
• His paintings went mostly to aristocratic and monastic collections outside Bohemia.
• Hartmann's work has been offered at auction multiple times.
• The most expensive Hartmann sold on the Czech market is Forest landscape (Lesní krajina), which was sold in 2006 at the Meissner-Neumann auction hall for 1.67 million crowns.
