• An anonymous painter, active in northern Italy in the first half of the 16th century, better defined as "Friulian Friend of Dosso".
• Historian Longhi believed it was possible that the artist was born in Friuli, a hypothesis that was discarded by later critics, who instead supported the thesis of an education in Ferrara - where he is said to be originally from - and Veneto, with a subsequent transit through the lands of Tuscany.
• Friulian Friend of Dosso It is a personality reconstructed by Roberto Longhi (1960), who gathered under this unusual nickname a series of portraits halfway between the Ferrara taste of Dosso Dossi and the Venetian-Friulian culture of Pordenone.
