Simon Renard de Saint-André (1613 or 1614–1677)

• Was a French portraitist of the seventeenth century.
• Simon Renard de Saint-André born in Paris on September 10, 1614.
• He was born Simon Regnard, son of Claude Regnard, a goldsmith merchant in Paris, and Denise Laurier.
• Simon Renard was a pupil of Louis Beaubrun, painter, uncle of Henri and Charles Beaubrun.
• He married on June 3, 1646 with Suzanne Deshoulliers.
• In 1646, he was appointed painter in ordinary to the queen.
• He took the name Simon Renard de Saint-André in 1646. 
• He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture on 26 May 1663.
• He died in Paris on September 13, 1677.
