Simon de Châlons (1506-c.1561-1568)

• Was a Renaissance painter of Champagne origin.
• He was active in Avignon from 1532 to 1561.
• Simon de Mailhy or Mailly, known as Simon de Châlons, or Simon Châlons, is a native of Châlons-en-Champagne.
• He signs most of his works "Simon de Chaalons en Champaigne". 
• He is not documented before his arrival in Avignon, probably in the early 1530s.
• There, he collaborated with the painter Henri Guigues in 1532, before resuming his studio at his death and marrying his widow in 1533.
