John Bogle (1746–1804)
• Was a Scottish miniature painter.
• Known for his delicate watercolor and bodycolor portraits on ivory.
• Born in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of an excise officer.
• Studied at a drawing school in Glasgow founded by Robert and Andrew Foulis in 1753.
• He worked and trained in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
• Active in Edinburgh and London before passing away in 1804.
